I don’t know about everyone else, but I have had the yuckies for the past few days and it pretty much puts a damper on anything having to do with a camera. Between my leaking face, red nose, and general grumpiness; little to nothing has been done over the last few days.
But now, armed with a box of tissue and a cup of coffee, I’m ready to get down to business! I have plans to film a lot of tutorials, and I’m gathering the notes I’ve taken for reviews but for now- here are some things I’ve done around the internet to keep you busy!

VLOG: Getting Eyelash Extensions
I love yellow and pink together- especially this metallic muted yellow from the Kat Von D palette. I feel like it brings it down a notch from being too bright. I also found an awesome Deftones cover to put in the video, so I have been so stoked to publish this summer inspired makeup tutorial.

I hope you guys enjoyed it! Leave any suggestions in the comments!
Wow. What a busy, crazy, fun start to the year! I know I have been a little absent lately, but I have big plans for this blog. I can’t say yet- but I can’t wait to share them with you!
I have been doing live streams on my other website, Poise and Purpose, on Facebook. Did you know that Facebook has livestreaming? It’s kind of like Periscope, but right there on your Facebook- no app needed. It’s seriously so much fun- I hope you join me there to shoot the shit and have a good time!
Can you see my San Pellegrino on the ground beside me? So classy. I was unboxing my Birchbox on Facebook Live last night- and Birchbox showed up in the comments! How cool is that! I’ve been a subscriber of Birchbox for a long time, way back when they used to have little newspaper brown boxes, so chit chatting with them on Facebook Live was a little surreal.
For any beauty bloggers that follow me- I recommend getting on Facebook Live ASAP. It’s so new still that it’s not over-saturated yet!
Me and Sofia and Kelly during a livestream!
I am going to be turning more attention to my blog and YouTube, so make sure you’re subscribed if you want to stay up to date with my shenanigans!
Following my Facebook page is an easy way to keep up with what I am doing, because everything I do on each site is shared there!
Let me know any color combinations or tutorial requests you have in the comments!
Here are some recent makeup photos!
For those of you who don’t know; in addition to my blog here, I also collaborate with other publications and blogs! Here’s a quick roundup of what I was up to last week. I have a couple of videos for you (one that is particularly ridiculous), a couple of blog posts, and a beautiful post of a painting a good friend of mine did. I hope you like it!
Watch me make a fool of myself repeatedly.

I love really blown out smoky looks. I have protruding eyes, so smoking out my lower lash line super low actually serves to cover up my eye bags a bit. This look is sort of traditional, and sort of grungy. Like if 90’s had a baby with today: diet grunge.
Mac Paint Pot- Painterly
Makeup Geek Eyeshadow Starter Vault
- Crème Brulee
- Cocoa Bear
- Glamorous with Mac Fix +
Cynthia Rowley Eyeliner
Eyeko Black Magic Mascara
Start by putting any primer all over your lid, and setting it with a powder. I used Mac painterly paint pot and Makeup For Ever translucent powder.
Apply your transition shade. I used makeup geek crème brulee. which is a shade or two darker and warmer than my skin.
Next, apply any red/brown shade to your crease, concentrating on the outer third. I used makeup geek cocoa bear.
Blend it out, making sure to focus on the areas between the colors. Use a light hand.
Apply a brown shade into the crease, slightly within the red/brow you just laid down. you don’t want to cover it up. I used makeup geek, mocha.
Blend it out.
Pick up an orangey gold metallic shade on your brush, and spray with with Fix +. Apply it to your lid. I used glamourous from makeup geek.
Use a brush to add some of that same red-brown to your lower lash line. Drop it low.
Smudge it a bit with your finger to get a grungy effect.
Line the outer third of your lower lash line. I used Cynthia Rowley black eyeliner.
Blend it out with a smudger brush. I also went back with the eyeshadow the blend it out more. (see how I didn’t blend my left eye enough?)
Add some mascara.
That’s it! What do you guys think?
Lots of big things have been happening over here! I’ve been working with some pretty amazing people on a few different websites and social media. These people are pretty much goddesses in the social media and blogging world, so you can guess why I have been a little MIA here over the last few weeks. I’ve been working my ass off!
Sometimes I sit on my couch at night and wonder how the hell over the last six months this has become what my life is. Never once have I felt like I was doing the job I was meant to be doing, until now. Writing and talking to people has always been something I loved. I don’t know why it took me so long to make a career out of it. It’s very surreal
Anyways, I thought I would let you guys know, that in addition to what I usually post here, I will also be embedding videos and linking to other posts I have done. I also plan on periscoping for a little while every week. If you’re interested in joining in, stay tuned. I’ll post the times here and across social media when I know more details!
Here is what I’ve been up to lately!
Thank you for being so patient with me!
Let me know your thoughts on my beginner videos!
I recently purchased some Makeup Geek single eyeshadows and have been trying them out for a few days. This was my first time using them, and so far I’m impressed! I’m not surprised at all, considering the major amount of hype (from real people and not just beauty gurus) that surrounds most of Marlena’s products. A full review is to come, but for now lets get busy with this metallic sage smoky eye.
Orange and Turquoise seem to be trending on Instagram right now, so I wanted to figure out a way to wear these colors together, but be a little more every day wearable. I wasn’t sure if this would work, but it actually turned out really nice. Check out the video tutorial at the end.
